With a single intercept in the entire game, the star DT is making headlines yet again. But what’s more interesting is the fact that he is not just a player of football, but is a huge fanatic of video games as well. With a $20,000 game room and a 14 hours gaming routine, he is making headlines in yet another field.

Jonathan Allen is a video game addict during off seasons

In one of his recent interviews, he said that he had been a gamer since childhood. He claims to have brought a PC setup alongside his brother Richard Allen III and that both brothers are deep into gaming during the off-season.

Explaining this, he said that he is actually very competitive and thus when he is not on the football field, he needs to feel that competitiveness. Therefore, he plays video games competitively to make up for that adrenaline rush and thrill. He said, “competitiveness is one of the only things I do that gives me the same feeling as if I’m playing football on the field, and I’m competing competitively in video games.”

He then proceeded to show his setup saying, “That’s my computer that I actually built myself. Me and my brother built this PC over here [for] $7000. That computer I spent $10,000 on these two monitors are 3000 each, and the nice ones are like $15,000 to $20,000.” Notably, during off seasons, the brothers might play video games for 12-14 hours a day.

Jonathan Allen also explained why he was a gaming addict by saying, “As we’re preparing all the time growing up…it was kind of a way for me to get away you know. What I mean [is to] just escape, relax and recover mentally as well as what I did when I need to be at peace.”
