These two gamers met at Eastern Michigan and were playing football and COD together since then. Ryland later moved on to Maryland last fall to finish his college. What kept these two players connected during this time was their love for the online shooter game. Both avid gamers stayed connected on the game and texted each other there regularly.
While they were confident of getting drafted into NFL, the outcome came as a surprise to both. The offensive guard and kicker both got drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round. Ryland and Sow were the 10th and 15th picks respectively.

I needed to talk to him.” Ryland also shared his feelings about the reuniting of friends, stating he cried with his friend in this emotional moment.

It’s crazy we’re once again teammates.” Ryland also said that both players stayed connected, “We’re still in a couple of group chats together. We like to joke back and forth with each other.”
