“Tears of the Kingdom” marks Patricia’s third time portraying the character of Zelda, following her return in the 2020 spinoff, “Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.” In preparing for the role, Patricia drew inspiration from other strong female characters who hold royal positions and possess a passion for wisdom and education.

She explicitly confessed that she incorporated elements of Daenerys Targaryen, portrayed by Emilia Clarke in the immensely popular HBO series “Game of Thrones.” George R. R. Martin’s fantasy novels, which served as the basis for the television adaptation, have had a significant influence on the genre, garnering worldwide acclaim. It has become one of the most important pieces of modern literature. 

Recognized for its inclusion of diverse and empowered female protagonists, Patricia specifically selected Emilia Clarke’s portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen as a source of inspiration. Additionally, she mentioned incorporating “a little bit” of Emma Watson from the Harry Potter films and “a little bit” of Mia Farrow from “The Last Unicorn” into her performance.

Tears of the Kingdom outing sells 10 million copies in three days!
