The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is an excellent game. There’s a reason this game won all the praise it did at launch and became so successful financially. The game follows players as they start their journey in the skies and head to the surface. While following the usual path on the surface,  players can access a huge world down below through chasms.

Chasms are like a whole new world, a lot like the depths in Dark Souls. Death awaits at every turn, and darkness reigns supreme. For players struggling with these dark, deep areas, here are the top 5 tips to survive chasms in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

1. Bring food that makes you glow

Glowing fish, glowing mushrooms, and many other glowing things when players want to activate the Glow effect. This is a limited time buff that helps them emit light for a set period of time.

Just throw them in a plot and eat them away! This thing helps players when they are traveling through those very dark areas.

2. Preserve the arrows

Brightbloom seeds come in handy in the dark depths of Hyrule to help players see. But in their absence, many players shoot their arrows at walls. This can cost them one of the most precious resources down there, which is the arrows.

Players can simply hold R to get in the throwing position, hold the D-Pad up, select Brightbloom Seed, and throw those by hand. This prevents them from losing precious resources.

3. Have some sunny food handy

When players are attacked in a chasm by their relentless enemies, they often walk into the gloom covering the depths losing their health. This lost vitality cannot be regained without eating healthy food.

Using some very specific ingredients, players can cook themselves tasty food. This food allows them to regain those lost hearts and the energy to keep exploring the area.

4. Collect Zonaite

Everything a player kills in the depths drops Zonaite. This material comes in handy when players want to increase the battery backup of their reserve cells. These also act as currency when players decide to build something using Autobuild and lack materials.

5. Follow the light

When players climb those high areas in the depths, they will always see some bright green light in the distance. That light is coming from the lightroots. When players activate one of these lightroots it clears the map for them and lights up the area.

There are close to 120 lightroots in this game, which are very useful when it comes to exploring the depths.
