In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Ganon was absent. There were a bunch of versions of him that Link defeated, but none of them was the real Ganon.

It was never explicitly revealed where his real body was. This problem was solved in the very first trailer of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Zelda and Link are shown exploring some dark underground caves, and then they see him. He is dead, and his body is a mummified husk of his own former self. As the trailer reaches its endpoint, the last thing viewers see is his eyes lighting up.

Now, if all the recent rumors of this game’s story are to be believed, this scene is followed by a huge catastrophe, which leads to the separation of Zelda and Link.

One of them is lost underground, and the other is left wandering on the surface, trying to find ways to save Zelda and protect Hyrule from this newly awakened danger.

If those rumors are correct, then this character would be the most powerful form of Ganon players have ever seen. And the recent trailers serve as evidence of this too. They show a bunch of new and dangerous enemies coming to life. A bunch of them were not even part of the previous game. This means that the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom version of Ganon is not only the real deal; he is also way more powerful than those players have fought till now.
