The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a game of many biomes. From skies to snowy mountains to desserts, there is a lot to discover in this game. And once one has discovered all they can, it gets even more detailed.
Players are then left with the will to explore those new areas and see what they hide. Underground, also known as depths in this game, is one such area. But it appears some players are exploring it all wrong!

Depths in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are not even remotely similar to the sky islands or the mainland. They are more treacherous; they are full of even more dangerous enemies, and they are very dark.
To keep this darkness at bay, Nintendo has provided Link with a number of tools. The most common of these tools are the Brightbloom flowers and seeds. Using them is pretty straightforward. Attach them to your arrow and fire. This would light up a large area that was previously darkened.
This tool is pretty cool indeed, and players get pretty much an unlimited supply of it. Every cave in this game has Brightblooms in abundance. But there is a huge issue with this idea. Every Brightbloom takes an arrow to light up, and arrows are a limited commodity.

It’s fun to use while on the surface, where players can roam around and find themselves more arrows, but it does not work in the depths. Once players run out of arrows, it’s like they are missing a crucial combat tool. Hence, it is recommended that instead of using the arrows and Brightbloom, they find some Glow Fish and those glowing crabs in Zora’s domain and cook them.

The resulting food would give Link a glowing effect; he could light up the area surrounding himself just by walking into it. All things aside, this is the beauty of this excellent game. Players have more than one way to do something; they can do it using a number of different tools.

So why not take advantage of the open nature of this game and be a little more creative? There’s even a piece of armor that lights up Link in Caves; get that if you have to; it would save you a lot of arrows.
