MrBeast uploaded ‘$1 vs $250,000 Vacation!’ on August 12. And in the span of just 24 hours, it became the world’s most-viewed video for a non-music video. With the video gaining popularity online, a YouTuber by the name of CG Geek came forward to claim his animation was used in MrBeast’s latest video.

Upon seeing his work used in the video, CG Geek was elated and urged others to watch the video too. But he also notably said he did not receive any credit for his work. He said in a follow-up tweet, “Honestly I’m super flattered and think it’s cool – but others have been saying it’s stealing because MrBeast used it without permission or credit.”

While he was not blaming the YouTuber in any way, his claims made MrBeast the target of online critics. And they sent out their harsh critique on this matter, citing artistic recognition.

The use of fellow YouTuber’s work causes a heated debate online

Critics have commented on how MrBeast did not give his fellow YouTuber the credit he deserves. A critic said, It’s on the fence because of the 5-second rule. I would think MrBeast, given his rep as the nicest guy in the world would have tossed you some crumbs. Guess not.”

However, some fans have also come forward to defend the YouTuber, claiming he does not edit his own videos. A fan notably said, I am surprised they didn’t reach out but some editors just don’t care about copyright and will quite literally pass shit off as their own sometimes. I’m sure if MrBeast sees this he will want to sort this out if you don’t feel 100% about it.
