Is YouTube better than Twitch, following Ludwig and TimTheTatman’s move?

Back in 2021, Ludwig and TimTheTatman left Twitch and signed exclusively to YouTube. Since then, several debates regarding which platform is better between Twitch and YouTube came to light. Some users started showing their support to YouTube since popular creators such as PewDiePie, MrBeast, Valkyrae, and others would upload their content on the platform.

Whereas others backed up Twitch in order to support their favorite streamers, such as Pokimane, xQc, Shroud, Ninja, and others. However, Ludwig, TimTheTatman, and DrDisrespect move to YouTube made many people believe that YouTube provides better benefits than Twitch.

Interestingly, both platform has their pros and cons, but YouTube might provide prominent features as compared to Twitch. Some features include: content rule leniency, thumbnails, video marketing, and growth. In addition to that, YouTube allows creators to upload a variety of content apart from just being live or streaming.

Another advantage that YouTube has over Twitch is that you can do more editing to your videos. In general, YouTube is a better platform for long-lasting content since streams stay up indefinitely after they’re completed. Furthermore, the requirements to stream on YouTube are much steeper than on Twitch.

The platform requires content creators to have 1,000 subscribers and a minimum of 4,000 hours of watch time to monetize a channel. However, both platforms are fairly comparable in terms of profitability. Therefore, the major reason behind streamers leaving Twitch is because they want to upload more content apart from streaming and generate more advertising revenue.
