Valkyrae says YouTube is going to bring Prime Subs to the platform

During her live stream, the 29-year-old content creator talked about YouTube’s future plans. She said, “I don’t think it’s free you guys are… we don’t have a sort of prime but YouTube is working on gifted members and some sort of prime that’s not a prime.”

When replying to a fan’s comment, Valkyrae further added, “free it’s not free bro, wait is it free?” Twitch has had gifted subs for some time now. Gifted subs are subs that can be presented to other users in a stream. They are similar to a regular sub. Users who receive the gifted sub will gain access to things like emotes or the ability to chat in the stream.

Plus, YouTube has also been adding a lot of streaming-friendly features like theater mode on mobile devices, to name one.

And notable streamers like Valkyrae hinting towards gifted subs surely sparks a ton of conversations. Twitch has been one of the best streaming platforms for a long while, but YouTube is giving stiff competition. With streamers like TimTheTatman, Dr.Lupo, and others making the switch to YouTube Gaming, Twitch has to rethink its strategy going forward.
