MrBeast specializes in expensive stunts, a genre that he has single-handedly managed to pioneer! His content requires him to shell out a lot of money. But, he has always been a philanthropist. Giving out money to people is something he has always wanted to do, and this is probably why he has managed to own the genre so successfully.

MrBeast reveals a secret behind his popular Prison video

The Yard podcast, which went live last month, had MrBeast, Ludwig, Nick, Slime, and Aiden make a lot of intriguing revelations. One of them was why MrBeast replaced an astronaut with his editor for his ‘$10,000 Every Day You Survive Prison’ challenge. In fact, the challenge had a whopping total of  $1,000,000 up for grabs if the person managed to live in a confined room for 100 days!

As it happens, the team was planning to make an astronaut do the challenge. The main goal was to help him train for astronaut school, by imitating the challenges an astronaut faces in outer space. A prison room was perfect for the same, as it featured the same amount of confinement.

In fact, the team had themed the room accordingly, too. “That was the premise of the video, that’s why it was themed, there was an astronaut,” Jimmy revealed. Unfortunately, the astronaut in question got diagnosed with COVID-19 on the day of filming.

Following the same, MrBeast had to replace him with someone, and his editor, Josh, made the cut. Although the challenge went on to become harder by the day, Josh still ended up surviving 22 days. Adding up a few bonuses, a $20,000 grand deduction for his girlfriend’s engagement ring, and $10,000 per day, Josh made a total of $340,000!

Speaking of what helped Josh go through with the challenge, MrBeast added how Josh, being an editor, made it easier for him. “He kinda knew what the video would look like in his mind because obviously, I let him edit the video,” Jimmy revealed.
