Who hasn’t heard of Mario at this point? The iconic plumber is so popular, he is synonymous with Nintendo. And a lot of its credit also goes to the character’s original voice actor Charles Martinet. However when Martinet stepped down from the role, fans were concerned. They were thinking who will lend their voice to their favorite character. And to put an end to fans’ curiosity, the actor who will be taking over himself revealed they will be voicing Mario. And it is none other than Kevin Afghani.

While Charles martinet became a legendary voice for iconic Mario, fans seemed to respond positively to the fact that Kevin Afghani will be taking over for Super Mario Bros. Wonder. And looks like the voice actor himself felt extremely wonderful receiving so much love from his fans.

Mario’s new voice actor shares gratitude for fans

Fans were understandably curious to know who would replace Charles Martinet after he stepped down from his role of Mario and Luigi. He spent over 2 decades with the franchise. And having done so, he left some massive shoes to be filled. And the audience seemed to enthusiastically welcome Kevin Afghani as the new voice actor for both Mario and Luigi.

On October 14th, he took to X (formerly twitter) to announce to the fans, stating, “Incredibly proud to have voiced Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Thanks to Nintendo for inviting me into the Flower Kingdom!”

And after getting an overwhelming response, he took the opportunity to thank his fans, saying, “From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

He will begin his journey with Nintendo’s upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wonder. And with the game set to release in less than a week, fans were all praise for Kevin Afghani.

Fans wholeheartedly welcomed the new voice actor as he begins his journey with the franchise. The whole thread was field with fans congratulating him for his new role-“Congratulations!!!”

People also commented supporting his talent- “keep up the good work.”

Meanwhile, one user exclaimed their excitement about hearing the new voice of Mario.

Another user was yet again full of praise, pointing out how Afghani “captures the joyful spirit Martinet brought to Mario & Luigi.” Surely fas believe he is a worthy successor.

Yet another user claims that from how much ever they’ve heard, Afghani is going to “crush it!!”

Nintendo’s upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wonder is all set to release on this 20th of October. And while fans are surely thrilled about the game, they will be equally thrilled for Kevin Afghani.
