The pro gaming scene is one filled with incredibly talented individuals. These gamers put in the hours behind a screen, mastering the title. However, a lot of people argue esports athletes have it easy when compared to athletes who compete in other sports. Their argument is gaming does not take effort. From the words of a former athlete, here are his reasons why esports gamers have it much more tougher.

Former NFL athlete Chad Ochocinco presented his views about why esports athletes have it more difficult than other athletes. His argument focuses on the competitive aspect of gaming.

Since the advent of competitive gaming, Esports has become a big part of how gamers test their mettle. Competing at the highest level sees them play against some of the most skilled players in the game. Yet, there is a belief among people that esports is easy. An esports player does not have to work as much as any other athlete would have to. Chad Ochocinco clearly disagrees.

During an interview, one of the questions asked to the former NFL pro was about whether it was harder to be an NFL pro or a pro gamer. Ochocinco’s answer startled viewers when he sided with pro gamers. Having gone through the grind to get into the NFL, he believes gamers have it more difficult. His argument stems from the idea that gamers need to compete with millions of players all over the world. It means competing against anyone who thinks they are good at the game.

He believes with the NFL, you only have to compete with players in the league. With gaming, the horizon is much bigger. He says, “Gaming is an entirely different level. You’re competing against the world. You’re competing against everyone who thinks they are good at something. To be able to achieve the feat of dominating in a respective gaming title, it takes a lot. It is a lot more stressful. 53 players on a team, 32 NFL teams, you’re competing against a certain number of people. My numbers might be wrong but you see where I’m going. When you’re a FIFA gamer, you’re competing globally against millions of people.”

While some gamers supported the argument, the general consensus among Twitter users stood behind hard work. They believe any sport, be it esports, NFL, or any other sport, requires a lot of hard work and dedication. It certainly left some gamers quite happy with the response.
