PlayStation Showcase 2023 announced the return of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. With the release in October, Assassin’s Creed Mirage holds promise to return the series to its roots. After the last four games used the RPG genre, a return to classic Assassin’s Creed games is much needed. It looks like Ubisoft is going all out with this new title, bringing immersion to a whole new level with a new gimmick.
Ubisoft partnered up with haptics firm Oro to come up with a gaming suit that gives feedback based on your in-game actions.

Immersion is an important part of any game. However, if the game in question has you jumping across large gaps and climbing hundreds of meters, it becomes a bit of a problem. Assassin’s Creed is a franchise built off of its parkour aspect. As a result, to bring a new level of realism to their game, Ubisoft brought a haptic suit for gamers.

Partnering with haptics firm Oro, a gaming suit will be released. What this allows you to do is feel sensations based on the actions of the protagonist Basim. Initially, it sounds like an interesting idea. Most fans of the franchise wondered at some point what it felt like to be an Assassin. This could be their chance to find out. Moreover, it has the potential to enhance the bond between the game and the gamer.

Little sensations, such as feeling someone push you as you blend in a crowd, could make the experience so much better. Now the thing to remember is this is not a full-body suit. It is like a short-sleeved jacket, which limits what sensations it gives the wearer. Expected to be available sometime near Mirage’s launch, the haptic suit edition of the game will retail for a hefty price of $500.
Fans are concerned about the haptic suit
While news of the suit broke, fans presented concerns of their own. The primary issue was how intense the sensation of haptic feedback would be, especially since the game sees players jump off tall buildings and more. One fan laughed at the prospect of having to pay $500 just to feel hay piercing their skin after performing a leap of faith.

Other fans looked at the price tag for the haptic suit. With a $500 retail price, the suit does not come cheap. One fan considered buying a console instead of spending such a large sum on a single game. Moreover, fans do not know if there are other games that can support the feature.
You know how many games I can buy with that 😭😭😭😭 if I had 500$ if you have 500$ get a steam deck or something it’s a shirt 😭😭😭
