Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys, one of the most popular streamers on Twitch, got banned from the streaming site this Friday. The Twitch star was banned after streaming the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. This incident took place following a DMCA strike. While there was initial uncertainty regarding the reason for the ban, it was later most certainly believed that the ban came for the 10-hour long Avatar: The Last Airbender Watch Party.

Toast and Sykkuno are shocked after Pokimane was banned from Twitch

Streamers Disguised Toast and Sykkuno have expressed their astonishment at Pokimane getting banned. The news sounded quite shocking for both of them and the two streamers seemed to be taken aback when it broke to them.

Sykkuno, in particular, seemed very surprised and said, “There’s no way, There’s no way. You guys are trolling, right? Oh my god! She actually got banned! What” Sykkuno found the ban quite arbitrary and compared it with Mizkif who was also binge-watching before streaming Master Chef.

He says, “I don’t want to be that dude, but Mizkif streamed Avatar too. Does that mean he gets banned? I’m snitching on him — but he streamed it to like 50,000 people.”

Disguised Toast was very surprised as well and exclaimed, “Oh my f****ing God! They actually got banned for real!” This led him to contemplate deleting VODs and clips in order to protect themselves from another DMCA strike. They tweeted an image from the real-life action movie The Last Airbender and said, “when the world needed him most, he vanished (and deleted all his vods and clips from the past 2 weeks)”

Pokimane isn’t the first streamer to come under the scrutiny of DMCA, and definitely won’t be the last one either. In the future, there might be several other streamers falling victim to this new meta on Twitch.
