HBO’s The Last of Us series has been a phenomenon in modern-day television. Accumulating overwhelming responses from high-profile critics all over the board, as well as loyal fans. The season finale, successfully accumulated over 8.5 million views, just in its Sunday night premiere, becoming the most-watched episode premiere of the show and one of the biggest in HBO history.
According to the data, the first six episodes of the series are all now averaging 30.4 million viewers. Which is more than The Game of Thrones’ spin-off the ‘House of the Dragon’. Being one of the biggest shows on HBO, HoD had a peak average viewership of 29 million, which is not a small amount but also not enough to compete with the LoU.

Episode 2 – 5.7m
Episode 3 – 6.4m
Episode 4 – 7.5m
Episode 5 – 11.6m* (early premiere, includes data from Fri-Sun)
Episode 6 – 7.8m
Episode 7 – 7.7m
Episode 8 – 8.1m
Episode 9 – 8.2m

Episode 1 of the series is currently on the verge of reaching 40 million total views since its initial broadcast. In Latin America and Europe, The Last of Us has become the biggest show in the history of HBO Max.
