CGI trailers were something everyone talked about at one point. All companies used to reveal and announce all their games through CGI trailers. This trend has had both its supporters and its critics. Some people hated the fact that companies always skipped the chance to show what their game actually looked like; on the other hand, others suggested that this was the best way to announce a game that might still be in the early development phase.
Whatever the reason might be and however people reacted to those trailers, in-game trailers have had their own charm. For one, these trailers always give fans a clear look at what the game looks like.

That’s why the rumor that Microsoft will not show any CGI footage during their upcoming showcase is great news. But the twist to this rumor is the fact that this rule is only limited to the first-party games that will be shown during this showcase. Third-party developers have their own choice to present their games as they wish.
Another thing is, Microsoft is also planning to do away with its 12-Month release window rule, where they only show Xbox games that are at least a year away from launch. This means fans can expect to see much more than they had ever imagined.

None of our first party games in the show are full CG trailers. Everything is either in-game footage, in-engine footage, or in-game footage with some cinematics. Each of our trailers will be labeled so it is hopefully clear for our fans.
