Microsoft Studios announced Fable years ago via a teaser that did not tell much. Fans just saw a little fairy flying into a mystic forest, and nothing else followed other than the Fable logo. Years later, in 2023, when people were waiting for their first elaborate look at Bethesda’s new game, Starfield, they surprisingly got a look at Fable.
The trailer opened in a very curious way – none other than The IT Crowd’s Richard Ayoade showed up to tell his tale. He talked about being good and helpful, his purpose in the world, sometimes helping people, and such.

And in an instant, it is revealed that he is, in fact, a giant that the player character is fighting. If this twist was not enough, the game itself is visually breathtaking. It looks exactly in line with Playground Game’s other photorealistic title, Forza Horizon 5. Richard Ayoade’s giant form is extremely realistic, and he looks like he has jumped straight into the game from his popular series.
From a narrative point of view, it looks like this game is no different from its predecessors. It seems to be the Fable game everyone wanted—the game where they can be a hero or a villain. The choice of the player to do good or evil is the biggest draw in in Fable games, and it looks like this game would have it.
