They can now go back to the golden days of their favorite FPS franchise. The resurgence of past installments has given them a reason for celebration. As a result, Xbox sales have also increased astronomically.

It all started after the older CoD entries recently received a resurrection. Later, it was revealed that the unexpected change was made possible due to Xbox’s efforts. Seems like Microsoft wants to ensure that players get to enjoy CoD games on its consoles, especially the classic ones from the FPS series. This move has come at the right time given the fact that the company is soon going to acquire the action franchise’s publisher Activision.

Xbox Series X sales see a huge spike after old Call of Duty titles receive a fix in online matchmaking

The month of July has been amazing for Xbox and Microsoft. The company won the case against FTC, thanks to a favorable verdict from Judge Corley. And just a few days ago, the company ended up fixing the matchmaking problems for CoD games that were released more than a decade ago. What’s more interesting is that these titles are from the era of Xbox 360.

Currently, many players can be seen going back to classic Call of Duty offerings on the Xbox 360. Hits like Black Ops 2, the original Modern Warfare 2, and 2011’s Modern Warfare 3 are gaining a lot of attention, once again.

Well, it looks like the revival of older installments has also helped the sales of the latest console from Microsoft, showcasing the legacy of the Call of Duty brand and what it can do. According to the latest reports, the Xbox Series X has seen an unprecedented rise in sales.

In fact, the demand is so high that the console is becoming out of stock in several online retail stores. To be precise, sales have witnessed a rise of 84 percent on platforms like Amazon.

While fans are having a blast, Microsoft’s team must be feeling ecstatic right now, considering what they’ve been through recently. The Series X is a powerhouse of a device but now it’s getting even more attention thanks to the epic move by Xbox.
