Despite Microsoft launching the Xbox Series X two days prior to the PS5 release, their arch-rivals have managed to consistently rule over the markets. To mention dates, Xbox Series X/S was launched on November 10th, 2020 while the PS5 hit the markets on November 12th. The consoles were initially launched in the U. S and then moved to the global markets.

After its release, Sony caught pace from day one as they posted higher sales than Microsoft every month. The customer relied more on the blue brand instead of green, giving the company a handsome revenue. As a result, the Japanese giant took a massive lead until the past few months. Post that, Xbox got back into the race as their sales results looked quite stronger than before.
