While The Game Awards show witnessed some of the biggest publishers coming out to reveal their upcoming projects, including Sony with its PlayStation line-up, there was one industry giant that didn’t share any major news. Microsoft surprisingly didn’t announce any of the Xbox titles coming in the future, during the biggest night dedicated to video games.

Yes, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer was present at The Game Awards show. Considering that, a lot of people were speculating some kind of a big reveal for Xbox. Sadly, nothing of that sort happened. However, gamers need not worry anymore since they will soon have a lot to enjoy, according to a recent tweet from an Xbox official.
Xbox team has ‘a lot planned to show’ in 2023 for the fans
As soon as the three-hour-long Game Awards event wrapped up, everyone was wondering about Xbox missing the opportunity to drop a massive announcement. Especially the loyal fans, who play lots of Xbox-based titles. On Twitter, some of the users even expressed their frustration regarding this situation. Have a look:
I’d love to understand the thought process of not having to show anything at one of this years’ biggest gaming events. You could say Xbox at least was consistent in 2022, ending the year with another disappointment.

Now it seems like Xbox’s team did come up with a response to such reactions, as there was a tweet posted by none other than Aaron Greenberg, the Vice President of Marketing at Microsoft.
In the tweet, Mr. Greenberg assured the fans that they will definitely get tons of new titles in the new year. “We have a lot planned to show and share about an incredibly exciting year ahead for 2023. Appreciate folks are eager to learn and see more. Timing is always key, but don’t worry you will not have to wait too long for what’s next from us,” read the tweet.

When it comes to Sony, the direct rival of Microsoft, they ruled The Game Awards night with exclusive announcements. Along with a new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI, PlayStation fans also got to see an unexpected reveal of Death Stranding 2. The latter is the upcoming sequel to Hideo Kojima’s blockbuster from 2019.
