Xbox Game Pass is a fairly popular service as every game released by Microsoft as a publisher makes its way to this service from day one. And subscribers can enjoy those games whenever they subscribe. The service used to be pretty cheap in the past as well, which added to its popularity. Recently Microsoft introduced a new tier to this service.

The new tier was called the Family and Friends Tier, which gamers could purchase and add their friends and family to. And this service was available at a preview price of $10. But this preview is very close to ending soon!

It is pretty common for a company to introduce a trial or an introductory price for their product or service. When Microsoft introduced the Friends and Family tier, they had to make sure people at least tried it out. Hence, this introductory preview came into play. And it looks like fans loved it.

Many subscribed to this service and added people they wanted to it. For those unaware, this tier basically gives them access to five independent accounts. Those who are added to it are able to enjoy the games they want without having to worry about it closing or giving a warning message when someone else starts the same game.

It’s really an interesting service; many people subscribed to it. Now Microsoft had a shocking announcement for them. They will be ending the preview pricing of this service from August 15, 2023 onwards. Once the preview ends, subscribers will have to start shelling out somewhere close to $22 per month. This is again not a bad price for a service that allows five simultaneous users to play games on it.

Some think Microsoft has taken this step in light of its successful acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Fans have this notion that this service will increase in value the moment Activision’s library debuts on Xbox Game Pass. It’s not a misconception either, the presence of pretty much every Call of Duty game on Game Pass alone would make that price point worth it for many people.
