With Xbox Games Showcase 2023 ending with the announcement of a huge array of games, fans are getting their shopping lists ready. Some are looking at the hardware section and probably getting a new Series X/S while some may be looking to buy some new titles. Though multiple fans would definitely be gearing up to buy the showstopper of the Xbox Showcase, Bethesda’s Starfield.
This sci-fi action game is definitely going to be one of the most-hyped releases of this year. And while the title isn’t out yet, Xbox fans are left flabbergasted by the minimum PC requirement of this title.

Esports journalist Tom Warren shared some screenshots from Starfield’s Steam page on Twitter stating, “The Steam listing for Starfield says an SSD is required”. Furthermore, the title also demanded 125 GB of free storage needed to run smoothly on the PC. Warren also pointed out Steam listings aren’t always the most reliable ones to refer to. He urges fans to wait till Bethesda confirms or denies the Steam minimum and recommended specs.

The minimum system requirement of the game on Steam contains the following things.
- OS: Windows 10 version 22H2 (10.0.19045)
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel Core i7-6800K
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700, NVIDIA GeForce 1070 Ti
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 125 GB available space
- Additional Notes: SSD Required

These requirements have bamboozled many fans. Fans are asking if these are the minimum requirements, what will be the final requirements to run the game smoothly? Currently, the minimum requirements are very close to the recommended requirements. The Steam listing definitely ought to change once the game hits the market.

It’s gonna become the standard. Mechanical hard drives hold back productivity PCs so much, it would be exponential in gaming. At this point they should only be used for archival and long term storage of large batches of data.
