However, it seems like nothing can remain perfect for a longer period. Something similar happened with Microsoft recently when many gamers across the globe reported that they weren’t able to play any title on their Xbox. Apparently, there’s been an outage problem going on for the past few days.

The situation turned serious when players complained about how they weren’t able to access purchased games, let alone playing them offline.

Xbox fans hoping for the best while staying irked by Microsoft due to the outages

Due to the server outages, many of the Xbox owners were unable to access their games, even when they were offline. This is probably due to the DRM technology being implemented by Microsoft that doesn’t allow offline possession of digitally purchased items.

This is kind of weird, especially in gaming where one player can end up buying many titles in order to keep them for the future. But due to the outages, many (not every) Xbox players have been in shambles when it comes to enjoying any game on their consoles.

They were getting this message when trying to enter their purchased titles: ‘The person who bought this game needs to sign in’.

Well it looks like Xbox did work on this major hindrance, as it dropped a new tweet on its official account. It mentioned that there’s been a “significant improvement to the issue”. It implies that it has begun deploying update for the console so that the problem can be fixed as soon as possible.

Furthermore, the tweet stated that “full mitigation” is on the way for coming days. So all those who are having this issue as of now, should start seeing them going away soon.

Meanwhile, Xbox fans were in doubts following the latest tweet. Majority of them were simply frustrated by the fact that one cannot play purchased games offline.

Some Xbox owners came up with suggestions for Microsoft to consider

Most of the users expressed this sentiment while hoping for the outage situation to finally go away. Others just wanted Microsoft to be fully transparent with whatever it’s doing to solve such issues. One angry fan wrote: “I really hope you make good on this, you’ve lost a heck of a lot of goodwill from the community and your biggest supporters as a result of these outages.”

Have you faced a similar scenario where you weren’t able to play all of your purchased titles offline? Also, do you think Microsoft should make purchased items DRM free?
