Xbox Boss Revealed a Major The Elder Scrolls 6 Update Which Might Be a Bad News For PlayStation Fans

There have been a lot of major activities going on in the gaming industry in the last few years. But one of the most significant moves in recent years has been Microsoft buying Bethesda Game Studio. The latest update Xbox CEO Phil Spenser is making a scary dream come true for many PlayStation fans.

It is no secret that there is tough competition between Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox. However, the former always managed to stay ahead because of its enormous catalog of games. But Xbox managed to deliver a tremendous blow to them and turn a fan-favorite title across all platforms into an Xbox exclusive.

The Elder Scrolls 6 is going to be an Xbox exclusive

Since Microsoft acquired Bethesda, the biggest fear for PlayStation fans has been the future of The Elder Scrolls series. They were scared that this action RPG series would become an Xbox exclusive. This fear might be coming true after Phil Spencer’s latest announcement.

The Xbox CEO hinted that the next Elder Scrolls title wouldn’t be available on all platforms like in the past. Instead, The Elder Scrolls 6 would only be available for Xbox consoles and maybe PC. Spencer said, “It’s not about punishing any other platform like I fundamentally believe all of the platforms can continue to grow.”

“But in order to be on Xbox, I want us to be able to bring the full complete package of what we have.” The Xbox boss further continued, “And that would be true when I think about Elder Scrolls VI. That would be true when I think about any of our franchises.”

Can this move by Xbox affect PlayStation?

The Elder Scrolls 6 being an Xbox exclusive can leave a huge impact on PlayStation. Even though the last installment in the series, Skyrim, came out over 11 years ago, it remains an absolute fan favorite. There is a gigantic fan following for this action RPG game, and a lot of them are PlayStation users.

So making the next installment an Xbox exclusive might force those players to switch to the Microsoft side. One of the biggest reasons for PlayStation’s excellent sales has been its catalog of games. So, Xbox can also have the same including titles like The Elder Scrolls.
