If WWE legend The Iron Sheik were to make a list of all the people he hates, Hulk Hogan would probably top it. The beef between the two Hall-of-Famers is iconic and has somehow stood the test of time. The Iron Sheik regularly takes shots on the ‘Hulkster’ on Twitter. However, he recently switched things up by roasting both a Nintendo title and Hulk Hogan.

The tweet uploaded on March 4 is simple yet powerful and puts the veteran wrestling entertainer’s wits on full display. Although, it’s unlikely Hogan would appreciate the comparison.

The Iron Sheik isn’t a fan of the Nintendo developed Super Mario Bros 2

Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri, better known by his ring name, The Iron Sheik, may have retired from wrestling, but he can still deliver some serious punches. Accordingly, he has made it a tradition to go after his once rival Hulk Hogan in any capacity possible. For the uninitiated, Sheik and Hogan famously clashed at the Madison Square Garden for the title of WWF champion. And the ‘Hulkamania’ emerged as the winner.

Hogan earned two things that day: the coveted belt of WWF champion, and the ire of the Sheik. Since then, Vaziri has repeatedly roasted the champion and even Wendy’s joined in on the fun. However, the latest target of his attacks is none other than the Italian plumber himself.

The insult can be taken at face value to mean Super Mario Bros 2 is as bad as Hulk Hogan, according to Vaziri. But there could be more here than meets the eye.

Super Mario Bros 2 is not in high regard, unlike Nintendo’s other Mario offerings. While the game does fine as a stand-alone offering, it is different from its predecessor. The Iron Sheik comparing it to Hulk Hogan could be a dig on the latter for not being as entertaining as his peers.

Yet another possibility alludes to Super Mario Bros 2’s origin. Since the US release of the Nintendo game is not actually Super Mario Bros 2 but a re-skin of Doki Doki Panic, the Sheik could even be calling Hogan fake.

Whatever the intention might be, his audience is getting a hearty chuckle out of it.
