Call of Duty Modern Warfare II season 5 has been out for a while and with it come many new features in the game. The free content update brings in a new Battle Pass, improved movement mechanics, UI enhancements, new weapons, and new maps like Strike remake and Put to Mar. Activision is also working with Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, 21 Savage, Lara Croft, and Superheros from The Boys for content in the new update.

While all these new features are being praised and enjoyed by the community, there is one additional feature that many fans are not happy about. Some players took their opinions to Reddit out of frustration.

Among all the features in the season 5 update of Modern Warfare II, one new feature stood out. The Battle Buddies feature in the game received a lot of mixed reviews from fans. While some liked the addition of an announcer pack, many players hated it.

One such player took their complaints to Reddit where he titled the post “These Battle buddy’s are the worst thing they’ve brought out”. The gamer went on to express their frustration about how they find the Battle Buddy annoying. He said “I wouldn’t mind so much if I could mute them but they may be the most annoying thing COD has ever introduced”. The user in question also points out how this feature might carry on into Modern Warfare III.

The concern of the gamer is a legitimate one. The Battle Buddy AI screen comes as a part of the bundles that players can buy within the game. Players are getting sick of hearing announcements from their guns for every given move they make. What makes this worse for the gamers is the fact that players who don’t own these Battle Buddies still have to deal with the sound via a teammate’s weapon if its on the floor

Many players were upset with this new feature as it does come off as distracting. One went on to share their opinion, stating “I’d like them if you couldn’t hear other people’s.”

One player even got confused about the new feature to be an Easter egg. The player heard a sound saying “help me! Let me out!” while standing on a shipment container. The player went on to inspect this phenomenon only to find that there was a dropped gun with a Battle Buddy calling for help.

One comment highlighted something peculiar about one of the voice packs called Gwen. Upon reloading, the AI announcer goes on to say something that has an indecent innuendo.
