In a recent job listing on Microsoft’s official website, they are looking for a Principal Software Engineer, Gaming AI, at Xbox Emerging Technologies. So, it’s legit that some advanced technology is about to emerge. This job was posted before Microsoft’s September event, where this Redmond-based company announced new Windows 11 AI features.

According to Xbox, they are “exploring new emerging technology trends to craft the next era of gaming. Xbox’s future goal is to “define the future of Xbox by advancing our mission of bringing joy and community to every player on the planet.”

In order to crack this highly coveted position, potential candidates need to have backgrounds in both gaming and artificial intelligence. Xbox has stated that they are looking for someone who will be able to incorporate the most advanced technology of this generation into their games and will be a worthy asset to the newly formed Xbox Gaming AI Team.

This team will be the pathfinder for AI gaming in the Xbox in the near future. They have also stated that this team will explore ways to build innovative and effective AI/ML (artificial intelligence/machine learning)-based features, tools, and services.

According to the job listing, “the Principal Software Engineer will work within incubation projects to implement new features, tools, and technologies leveraging cutting-edge AI and machine learning.”
