During an interview with Famitsu, Jim Ryan shared his thoughts on the questions about the upcoming Spider-Man title. He is excited about the launch of Spider-Man 2 this year due to the success of its predecessor. He said, “Marvel’s Spider-Man released on PS4 is the touchstone. The title was a huge success on PS4 and was enjoyed by millions of users.”
And he was hopeful that the new title would be a success too, thanks to the works of its developers. The title is being developed exclusively for the PlayStation 5. This exclusivity to the console will help the developer to not make compromises and deliver their best product. He said, “They are focused on making the most out of the PS5’s functions and creating the best piece of work.”
Talking about the feedback received from fans, he hoped it to be positive. Jim Ryan stated the fans who will play the game will feel like a wonderful experience with beautiful visuals. Although the game is coming out in 2023, the developers of the sequel have still kept it hush about the release date. Maybe the game will be revealed on PlayStation Showcase 2023 as rumored by an industry insider.
SIE President is also open to release in the PC world
The Spider-Man 2 will be a PS exclusive for now. But Jim Ryan is open to PS games, like Spider-Man 2, being released on PC. Although, they will be releasing titles on PC after a considerable amount of time. He said, “I often get the opinions of game fans, and when I ask them about the time lag, many of them take it favorably about selling the PC version two or three years later than the release of the PS version.”
