The FPS community is quite broad. With time, more and more games are added to the mix. The pool is very competitive with titles like Valorant gripping for the top position. Amidst these new games, CS: GO has been maintaining its top position for more than a decade. Moreover, when everyone thought the game couldn’t surprise anymore, it goes on to deliver record-breaking numbers in co-current player count.
Ever since the announcement of Counter-Strike 2, the community started thriving. More and more people have shown interest in the game. Even many who earlier had taken a break from gaming came back to feel the competitive energy once again. After the CS2 announcement, we saw a sudden boom in the player counts for CS:GO. This happened quite a few times in the past few months.

Now yet again, the game proved its prowess and broke its own record. According to reports, CS: GO had 1.8 million concurrent players. Interestingly, this is right before the last Major of the year.

May 7 marks the beginning of Blast Paris Major 2023, which is the last major event of CS: GO, and the next one is only scheduled for the next year (PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024). Amidst the preparations for the competition, the community expressed their excitement through the game itself.

With the hype and activity CS: GO is witnessing in recent days, we can say that Valve’s decision to reboot the game through Counter Strike 2 is working.
