As technology becomes more sophisticated and AI more intelligent, the tech industry often ponders whether a Frankenstein is in the making. The gaming industry, in a similar way, faces waves of new improvements every day that can render the previous generations of products obsolete. While controllers are still sold by the thousands, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality are now threatening their market.
In a recent podcast with MIT research scientist Lex Friedman, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg talked about AI like Meta Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro. Ae thinks that controllers will remain the go-to option for serious gamers, at least for the foreseeable future.

He also bottom lines the fact that using a physical controller makes an immense difference in the “tactical feel” of a game and players would continue to want that instead of just waving their hands in the air to do something.
