Since the inception of Call of Duty series, the feature of Theater Mode has been quite popular among the fans. It has been present in numerous installments. With that being said, the next major premium from Activision, Modern Warfare 3, is bringing back tons of fan-favorite options too. Can players also expect Theater Mode to come back?
Well, that’s a burning question doing rounds in the minds of many fans right now. Especially, those who have grown up seeing Theater Mode in past installments from publisher Activision.

For the uninitiated, the feature was originally introduced in the 2010’s Black Ops. After that, it has appeared in titles like the original MW3, Black Ops 2, Black Ops 3, and Black Ops 4. The last game to have this option was 2020’s Black Ops Cold War. The feature enables the players to save gameplay and take screenshots. What’s more? It also allows them to fast forward, pause, slow down, or rewind gameplay videos.
In short, players can capture videos in any way from their own perspective. While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is coming with a lot of classic elements, inspired by old titles, it seems highly unlikely to see Theater Mode in the game.
The basic reason is that the devs haven’t really shared an official word on Theater Mode’s return. Simply put, there’s no confirmation of this feature’s presence in MW3. In fact, the ongoing Beta for the awaited title hasn’t given a hint about the beloved mode’s arrival.
Modern Warfare 3 to pack a solid punch of nostalgia!
Sledgehammer’s team is going to offer a major dose of content to COD fans. They will receive a totally revamped Multiplayer experience when the game releases next month. A lot of classic movement mechanics, namely slide cancelling and reload cancelling, are coming back. Moreover, a total of 16 remastered maps are also returning after more than a decade.
The traditional campaign mode will also make its way, like every year. Popular characters like Captain Price, Ghost, Gaz, Alex, Alejandro and Valeria will be seen in their iconic roles. However, a fan-favorite series villain in Vladimir Makarov will also return. The ruthless antagonist was last seen in 2011’s original MW3.

Last but not the least, there’s also an open world Zombies mode. It will follow a PvE format, while requiring the players to go against large hordes of the undead. The main objective for them will be to loot items, finish given quests, and then extract successfully.
