Overwatch is a famous first-person shooter video game by Blizzard Entertainment. It came out in 2016 and soon became a colossal hit among fans. Because of Overwatch, hero shooters became popular. It also became a significant part of the eSports community. After Overwatch lost its glory, a new hero shooter game, Valorant took its place.
Can Overwatch 2 take over the throne from Valorant?
Valorant has risen to glory in the past few months and taken the throne as the best hero shooter game. Even in eSports, the Valorant scene is more potent than Overwatch. One of the reasons for Valorant’s rising popularity was it being free-to-play.
Overwatch was a premium game, meaning fans had to buy it before being able to play it. However, keeping that in mind, that won’t be the case with Overwatch 2 because it would be a free-to-play game available on various platforms like Windows, Xbox One, Sony PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.

Moreover, Blizzard Entertainment introduced new features to make the sequel game more thrilling. For example, now the squads will have five players instead of six players. Also, this 2022 hero shooter game would have a player vs. environment mode. These might add up to be some important factors that would help the game in being successful than Overwatch and Valorant.
How did Twitter react to this upcoming video game?
Fans are eagerly waiting for Overwatch 2 to be available at the stores. But until then, all they can do is wait for it. Meanwhile, some gamers teased the Overwatch players with some sarcasm by telling them to use this opportunity to complete other tasks like taking a shower and stepping out of the house. Let’s look at some of the reactions from the fans.
