Spider-Man 2 is almost here, and fans everywhere are rejoicing at the rave reviews this game is getting. While the game failed to touch the metacritic score of Arkham Asylum by a hairline, it’s still nothing short of a masterpiece. After all, developer Insomniac Games has spent a better part of four years, or maybe more, working on this superhero spectacle.

They have not left anything behind when it comes to content. Filling Spider-Man 2 with fan favorites and some really scary foes. But it looks like one of Spider-Man’s nemeses was hiding in plain sight and may make an appearance in these games in the future.

Devil’s Breath serum might be the key to Mobius’ appearance in Spider-Man 2

There are hardly any Spider-Man fans who do not know who Morbius is. He is without a doubt one of Spider-Man’s darkest and most powerful adversaries. And he was even part of the first Spider-Man game back in 2018. Fans were pleasantly surprised when they saw Dr. Morgan Michaels make an appearance in Spider-Man.

To their disappointment, though, he was no more than just a human in that game. He never got a chance to turn into that anti-hero that everyone loves. This does not mean that the game was bad, though; it only means that Morbius was reduced to a simple tease in that game. He does not seem to be in the sequel either. Maybe Spider-Man 3 or a DLC for Spider-Man 2 would be the lucky one, and maybe he would use the Devil Serum designed by Oscorp to turn.

That serum has proven to be a cause of many problems in the first game already. Norman created it to cure his wife and then his son Harry, and he seemingly failed in both endeavors. In fact, it was even used by some villains as a chemical weapon in the first game. We have to see if it becomes something else when it reaches completion in the next game.

The upcoming sequel already has plenty of villains

It’s not as if this sequel has any shortage of villains either. From Venom to Kraven the Hunter and even Sandman, this game has already given Spider-Man enough problems to deal with; maybe it’s for the better that Insomniac is holding a major character such as Morbius for the sequel.

Besides the above-mentioned villains, Spider-Man 2 also has a bunch of secret supervillains that would count as spoilers if they were revealed here. Fans would rather find out about them while playing the game on October 20, 2023.
