Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will release in just over two weeks. Being a continuation of its predecessor, it will offer a lot of new content for the players. But what will eventually happen to Modern Warfare II? Well, that’s one crucial question a lot of fans may have right now, especially given the fact that all seasonal updates for the existing title are over.

Initially, not many people thought that MWII would receive a total of six seasons. Players will be able to log into Modern Warfare II. Yes, they will get to play the ongoing installment even after the release of Sledgehammer’s MW3 title. They can do so by going into the COD HQ app and choose MWII from the given options. Basically, the reveal of a new COD won’t remove its predecessor in any way possible.

It’s just that Modern Warfare II will turn into an additional game on COD HQ platform. Activision has already confirmed that it’s the way future Call of Duty games will be available to all the players. After Modern Warfare 3, all the upcoming offerings will come to the new app alongside previous titles.

While MWII will remain available, it may see a drop in its player base, which is bound to happen. Following the release of Modern Warfare 3, most of the players will jump into the new installment. But Activision won’t mind that. After all, having an active player base is the main priority for the publisher.

What to expect from the new COD?

Speaking of the brand new installment itself, Modern Warfare 3 will bring tons of surprises to the table. Compared to Modern Warfare II, it will likely offer a better overall experience as far as the Multiplayer setup is concerned. Further, there will be a collection of 16 remastered maps. To name a few, players will get to revisit areas like Rust, Highrise, Favela, Afghan, Karachi, Scrapyard and more.

Also, Sledgehammer’s title will carry forward tons of content from MWII. Players will be able to keep their purchased bundles, weapon cosmetics and Operators from MWII in the next game.
