The hype for this year’s Call of Duty will soon start getting the momentum once Activision makes an official announcement with a teaser. However, the excitement among the loyal fans is already increasing, thanks to the ongoing leaks and rumored reports.
According to some of the reputed scoopers, it’s been already revealed that 2023’s Call of Duty is expected to be known as Modern Warfare III. Being a direct continuation of the ongoing game, this name will make quite a lot of sense. But the most important aspect of this year’s premium offering will be its actual experience. The recent entries have miserably failed to woo the fans who have been devoid of great FPS action – similar to the older CODs.

Prior to the release of Modern Warfare II, majority of the players in the series were used to a certain format of movement across the maps. In fact, the most impressive part of the action franchise has been its fast sliding abilities provided to FPS gamers. It helps them to run, slide, and shoot quickly, without having to go through any kind of delay. However, things have literally changed in the latest installments namely MWII and its free-to-extension, Warzone 2.
With the anticipated release of the two Call of Duty games, the devs at Activision decided to offer something fresh. In other words, they went for a new set of mechanics, assuming that fans would end up liking them.

Sadly, that’s not been the case at all. Majority of the players have been disappointed with the overall pacing and the movement abilities featured in MWII. Simply put, the general response has been lukewarm to say the least.
Even the devs at Activision are now aware of the issues bothering the loyalists. Hence, they won’t likely repeat the same mistakes with the rumored Modern Warfare III. At least one can hope for them to re-introduce the same set of mechanics most of the fans are fond of. This way, the makers will not only impress the community but also win back the trust of millions of COD lovers.
