In Assassin’s Creed Mirage players meet Basim again. While he makes an appearance in Valhalla, players can expect to see his story really unfold in the Mirage. In Mirage, players will get to see Basim take on the city of Baghdad and assassinate enemies in the shadows. Ubisoft has worked on the title with the original games in mind, focusing mainly on the stealth combat aspect.
On the other hand, whenever anyone says “Assassin’s Creed”, Ezio Auditore is the one assassin that comes to mind. Making his debut in Assassin’s Creed II, Ezio has become the most iconic character from the series. In the series where stealth is the main mechanic, fans have begun to draw a direct comparison between the two stealth assassins.
Basim’s role in the Assassin’s Creed series

Basim Ishak will take center stage in the latest installment of the series, Assassin’s Creed Mirage. However, Basim made his debut as a character in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Introduced as the main antagonist of Valhalla, Basim is shown as a master assassin for the Hidden Ones. Mirage allows players to explore Basim’s origins, delving into his early life as a street thief in 9th-century Baghdad.
In Mirage players can expect to unveil Basim’s aspirations to join the Hidden Ones, the precursors to the Assassin Brotherhood. His journey in the game encompasses stealth, rooftop navigation, and a variety of challenges as he strives to become part of this secretive organization.
Players get to see Baghdad through the eyes of Basim and this is where they will get to explore many secrets of the city. With the gaming going back to its roots in terms of gameplay, players can expect to see a lot of parkour and stealth kills in the game. Along with the Instakill technique, Basim showcases a new assassination ability called Assassin’s Focus. However, when it comes to stealth kills, no one does it better than Ezio.
Ezio’s Influence on Assassin’s Creed

Ezio Auditore da Firenze is the most famous Assassin in the Creed. He was born in 1459 in Florence, Italy, into a wealthy and influential family. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when his father and two brothers are unjustly executed. His quest for revenge leads him to discover his family’s hidden involvement in the Assassin Brotherhood.

He then joins the brotherhood to bring justice to his family. Upon joining the brotherhood, he receives training in the ways of the Assassins and becomes a skilled assassin, free runner, and master of stealth.

While Basim has a chance of winning fans’ hearts, Ezio has been the most iconic assassin in the franchise. Although fans haven’t gotten to see much of Basim, it is unlikely that he would ever have the same impact as Ezio. That being said, do you think any Assassin could surpass Ezio?
