Pokemon Go is not a game; when it launched, it was basically a phenomenon, and fans could not get enough of this AR title. As the game grew in popularity, it also grew in size, and as it grew in size, the developers had to make decisions about adding new features to it. Sometimes even removing some problematic ones.
And it’s very common that they get different responses from fans for different kinds of changes. Mostly, fans greet these changes with a negative reaction, just like Niantic and The Pokemon Company are facing after introducing some new changes to this game.

Pokemon Go fans are not loving the recent changes made to their favorite AR game!
Very recently, The Pokemon Company and Niantic announced a bunch of changes that were hitting their live-service AR game, Pokemon Go. These changes mostly affected the Remote Raid Passes of this game.
They claim that these changes have been designed with new players in mind, just so any new or old players can enjoy this game as much as the next guy.

Here’s the list of changes that hit this game:
Pricing adjustments:
- The price of the Remote Raid Pass three-pack will increase to 525 PokéCoins.
- The price of single Remote Raid Passes will increase to 195 PokéCoins.
- A premium battle pass three-pack will be added to the shop for the price of 250 PokéCoins.
Remote Raid participation limits:
- Trainers will be able to participate in a maximum of five remote raids per day.
- This maximum may change or increase for special events.
Remote Raid Passes:
- The Remote raid passes will be included in the pool of potential rewards for research breakthroughs.
- Finally, Remote raid passes earned via research breakthroughs will still be subject to the existing inventory limit of three remote raid passes per trainer.
- If a trainer earns a remote raid pass from a research breakthrough while at the three remote raid pass limit, they will receive a premium battle pass instead.
- Purchases of Remote Raid Pass 3-Packs will still allow you to hold up to 5 Remote Raid Passes if you purchase them with 2 Remote Passes already in your inventory.

Candy XL:
- Trainers who participate in five-star raids in person will earn more Candy XL than before.
Long-time fans are not so enthusiastic about these changes!
While Niantic claims they made these changes with the future of this game and new players in mind, it appears they have yet to convince the fans to stand by these changes. Fans have shown a universally negative reaction to this news. Some fans claim that this game is now going downwards, and others claim that Niantic does not care for their fans.
Why do you hate your fan base so much? If people with disabilities were taken into consideration when this decision was made, are you just outright admitting you don’t care for those peoples limitations? This cap is unnecessary and ridiculous, your team is a walking L.

Have to admit, I find your dedication to the "let's go outside" notion admirable in the face of damaging your revenue stream and annoying your userabase.

Here’s a question @NianticLabs
Articulate how the game is being “harmed” by remote raiding. Go ahead. We’ll wait.
Players still use the game in real world — to grind, spin stops, defend gyms.
It was on YOU to create in-person raiding incentives. And you failed.

Who is in charge of these decisions?
I just want to know who at Niantic is so against Accessibility. I just want to talk.
Who hurt you?

Have you guys told your CFO that you decided it'd be good for the game if you just pissed away hundreds of thousands of dollars?

Niantic developers have clearly never lived in rural America. Disappointing but par for the course. Company has very rarely shown interest in listening to players' needs or concerns. Great to meet up with community of players, but not possible for everyone

Niantic has no concept of what it's like to play the game in a suburban or rural environment. Or to be mobility challenged or the myriad of health related conditions that can keep one inside.
