Despite earning a whopping $54 million in 2021, the biggest payday for any YouTube creator that year, MrBeast lives a very modest life. Appearing on The Joe Rogan Experience #1788, he divulges his philosophy and how that plays into his life decisions.

Upon being complimented by Joe for reinvesting so much money into his brand, Jimmy notes he puts all of it into the business.

“Why do I need money?” he says.

This intrigues Rogan, who inquires if Jimmy has made any big purchases for himself? Say, a Ferrari perhaps?

I think living your life chasing like a nicer and nicer car, and a bigger and bigger box to live in is kind of like a dumb way to go about life,Jimmy retorts.

In a surprising move, Jimmy isn’t big on luxury or material possessions. Even if some of his tantalizing giveaways would have you believe otherwise. Furthermore, the YouTuber reveals he lived in “super below average home,” and the only reason he moved into a relatively better home was because someone broke in and stole everything I owned.

The pattern continues as he describes that the only reason he drives a Tesla is to conserve gas.

Also if I lived in a 10 million dollar mansion while I’m feeding people and trying to help people, in my eyes it’s a little hypocritical as well.
