Why Are Some Potterheads Calling For J.K. Rowling to Stay Away From Hogwarts Legacy?

Harry Potter games have expanded far beyond the books, or even movies for that matter. With Hogwarts Legacy all set to release later this year, the fans of the magical world are too excited. However, some Harry Potter fans want J.K Rowling (author of Harry Potter’s major books) to stay away from the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy. But why?

J.K. Rowling was at the center of a controversial issue

All of this started way back in 2019 when J.K Rowling made some unbelievably controversial comments. They immediately turned into a burning issue and sparked outrage among viewers. Moreover, the author, just like other Harry Potter fans, can’t seem to let go of the franchise.

Back then, she also made some irrelevant and random comments about Hogwarts and wizards that didn’t sit too well with fans.

Moreover, she has made comments about Dumbledore being a homosexual. And that wasn’t all, since she would further provide more twists with regard to the Dumbledore character, still in the middle of the whole controversy.

Shortly after Hogwarts legacy was announced. The majority of the fans planned to boycott the game if J.K. Rowling were to profit from it. Even now, all across Twitter, fans have been brutally trolling J.K. Rowling and want her to stay as far away as possible from Hogwarts Legacy.

However, later on, Warner Bros highlighted the point that J.K. Rowling is not directly involved with the game and it’s not a new story from her.

Hogwarts Legacy is an open RPG game that gives players all the freedom in the world to explore the magical land of Hogwarts. Players can also create their own Witch or Wizard, learn some super cool magic spells, and get a thrilling chance to explore the areas beyond the prestigious magical school that can be a little dangerous for Hogwarts students.

With this in mind, it seems like Hogwarts Legacy is a dream game for many Harry Potter fans. The title promised to take fans on a ride filled with magical spells, a forbidden forest, and, of course, dangerous paths. After it was announced way back in September 2020, Potterheads roared with excitement as this was the dream project all the wizarding fans had been waiting for for so long.

The final release date of Hogwarts Legacy is still a mystery right now. But the devs have assured fans that the game will be coming this year.
