PlayStation recently announced its much-awaited subscription service, treating fans with the first surprise of 2022. As expected, Sony Interactive Entertainment is now merging the PS Now and PS Plus Subscription to launch a brand new competitor to Xbox Game Pass. In this new subscription service, players will get to choose from three tiers depending upon their needs and, of course, budget.

Everything you need to know about PlayStation’s new subscription service

Tier 1: PS Plus Essentials is at $9.99. For Tier 2: PS Plus Extra, the cost goes up to $14.99. And finally Tier 3: PS Plus Premium is at $17.99. Moreover, Games that will be available at launch for PS+ Extra and Premium subscribers include some of the widely popular and loved titles from PlayStation. Such as

  • Death Stranding
  • God Of War
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man (+ Miles Morales)
  • Mortal Kombat 11
  • Returns

However, these libraries will be refreshed regularly, giving players a much larger option to choose from. Not only this, PS Plus Premium offers access to classic PS games. This includes:

  • PS3 games via streaming
  • PS1, PS2, and PSP games are offered both as “streaming and download options. “
  • Time-limited game trials

The Japanese company made this exciting announcement earlier today via PlayStation blog post. As per the PlayStation blog post, “With the all-new PlayStation Plus, we’re focused on delivering a compelling game subscription service with curated content from our exclusive PlayStation Studios team and our third-party partners.”

“The newly enhanced PlayStation Plus will enable our fans to discover and engage with more content than ever before, and deepen their connection with the PlayStation community through shared experiences.”

Other than this, as per the official website, Sony Interactive Entertainment will start its phased regional approach from June 2022 in Asia, followed by North America, Europe, and the rest of the world.
