The Disney movie will be the first one in a year to have a traditional theatrical rollout. It will remain exclusive to theaters for 45 days as Disney has big plans for the $100 million production. The release date for the streaming platforms is September 27, 2021, as of now.

Before Covid-19, films usually had a 90-day frame of big-screen exclusivity, which was changed to zero for some of the recent releases. Movies such as Black Widow, Cruella, and Jungle Cruise saw a same-day release on Disney’s streaming platform Disney Plus for an additional $30 fee.

The 20th Century Studios, owned by Disney, doesn’t have official confirmation of the platform, but Disney Plus & Hulu seem viable. Free Guy won’t be coming to Netflix or Amazon Prime soon, for obvious reasons. Disney has been trying to promote its platforms recently, keeping its releases exclusive.
