Black Ops Cold War’s season 1 started in December 2020. This brought the game much success and gave it momentum; however, players are looking for something fresh to play. The latest installment in Treyarch’s Black Ops franchise is due for an update later this month. Black Ops Cold War recently became the 2oth best selling game in the USA and this update will only increase that figure. Twitter leaks have teased new maps, weapons, scorestreaks, and more.
New additions to Black Ops Cold War
Call of Duty Warzone’s Twitter account revealed that there will be 4 new weapons coming to Black Ops Cold War. An SMG called the AI-LC10 and a sniper, namely the NTW-20, are the latest weapons. The NTW-20 is a bolt-action sniper that delivers high damage to the head and upper head areas. By the sound of it, it could compete with the HDR, Tundra, and other guns in its class. The other 2 weapons are melee weapons: a machete and an e-tool. Additionally, we should see the crossbow coming to both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone as part of the ‘Archaic Range’ bundle.

We may also be getting a new operator as the Samantha Maxis bundle was leaked. Since she is a main character in the Zombies mode, this crossover does not seem too farfetched. This bundle will apparently also include a reactive camo that changes as players rack up consecutive kills.

A remake of Firing Range is rumored to make a return. This will add another small action-packed map onto the game. Furthermore, Apocalypse, a gritty map based in a jungle region, and a remake of the map Vertigo should also be coming with Black Ops Cold War’s season 2.

In terms of scorestreaks, we can expect to see the K-9 unit and flamethrower return. These have been some of the most fun and used streaks in previous iterations of the game, so it won’t be a surprise to see Activision bring them back. With Call of Duty Warzone coming up on its 1-year anniversary in less than a month, we can expect some changes to Verdansk along with other in-game additions.
