The Assassin’s Creed Mirage launch is on the horizon, and fans cannot stop talking about it. The game is definitely getting a lot of positive feedback from the fan community, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. This only means Ubisoft has once again succeeded in doing something new for this series to keep its fans invested.
With Mirage, Ubisoft states the series is moving back to the basics. They suggest Assassin’s Creed players would be able to become assassins in this new game. And this has fans wondering how that teased investigation mechanic would work in this one.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is bringing many older mechanics back; what exactly does Investigate resemble?

The Assassin’s Creed series started as a medieval mixture of Hitman Blood Money and Prince of Persia titles. The first game featured some parkour and a core mechanic called assassinations. Players visited the city where their target lived for assignments. There they investigated the target.
Upon investigation, they are to pay that person a visit and do the deed. In later games such as 2, Brotherhood, and so on, this approach changed a bit. Players prepared for assassinations every now and then, but that was done pretty differently. There was hardly any investigation involved when it came to killing the given targets.
In the later games, from Assassin’s Creed 3 onward, this mechanic took a back seat. The games still had assassinations, but they did not stand out from a gameplay perspective. They basically meant just going and stabbing someone in the back.
Then came Assassin’s Creed Unity, that infamous title that tried to rediscover the series somewhat. The game featured a character who, when preparing for assassination, actually scouted the location of his target, chose some given paths, and once again went straight for the kill. That worked to some extent. But the negatives overshadowed the positives in that game.

And now, once again, players would probably be gathering information on the target and preparing for it. Here’s hoping the game features something of a mix of mechanics from Assassin’s Creed and Unity. Investigating and doing some real legwork before a killing would add some depth to the experience of playing this game.
Whatever it is, fans will know soon enough when the game reaches their hands.

They also bring with them an increasing library of games, some classics, and some really unexpected unreleased titles. Star Fox 2 is the ultimate example of such a game. This is definitely cementing the Nintendo Switch’s position as a console on which players can play almost anything they want. Which is not a bad thing at all!
