Sony is doing an excellent job of bringing the party to PC gamers. They have been gradually releasing PlayStation-exclusive titles to PCs. And barring some unsuccessful attempts such as Uncharted Legacy Collection and The Last of Us Part 1, for the most part, these games have met with ground-breaking success on Steam.

And it does not look like Sony wants to stop with this anytime soon. They have already announced Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition for PC. And now, according to a newly discovered job post, to take this even further, they are on the lookout for a platform specialist for PC ports.

The gaming industry does not like clear, transparent results. They would rather have a bunch of focus testers or analysts tell them how to proceed with their newer products. Sometimes it works, and other times it ends up in a disaster such as Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Sony has released a number of PlayStation exclusives on Steam already. And almost all of those games, from Days Gone to God of War: Ragnarok, have been ground-breaking successes on this platform. There have been some setbacks, such as two of Naughty Dog’s badly ported games. Maybe to rectify this, Sony is now looking for a “Sr. Manager for PC Planning and Analysis”.

The description for this job says all we need to know: “As the Senior Manager, PC Planning and Analysis, you will be a key driver of our sales success and play a crucial role in shaping strategy for PlayStation’s fast-growing PC business.”

This means this analyst would decide which games would be released on PC and when. This is a great initiative on Sony’s part, setting up a whole team to make these decisions. Here’s hoping they take the decision to price their years-old games a little lower on PC.

Some long titles might be incoming

This new initiative also means that Sony now has a whole team to look into older games that should come to PC. Fans can now start hoping for titles such as Bloodborne, Infamous: Second Son, and even Killzone: Shadow Fall to make their way to Steam.

Of course, there’s hardly any doubt that fans will continue getting PC ports of newer games eventually, or at least two years after their launch. That’s how Sony has been doing things by now. Horizon Forbidden West would be coming to PC after around two years of its initial launch. There’s no news of Ghost of Tsushima, though. Let’s hope that game finds its way to PC too.
