Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Hyping up the excitement, Konami has recently confirmed the resolutions and framerate of the games.
As per Konami, there are various options in terms of resolution and framerates, as this collection is coming to tons of platforms. Fans might be a bit disappointed to see that the OG title Metal Gear Solid will be capped at only 30FPS, irrespective of all the platforms. So, what about others?

All the games in this collection are going to be running in full HD with a resolution of 1080p, except for Nintendo Switch’s Handheld Mode, which supports a maximum of 720p. Although you dock your Nintendo Switch to your TV or any other full HD monitor, it will certainly give you 1080p as well. Although there has been a bit of disappointment as none of the games are going to give 4K experience.

One of the most popular titles in this collection, MG Solid, will only support 30 fps maximum on all platforms. It is interesting to see that the Steam version of the game is also limited to 30 fps, as it is not usual to see PC games being capped at a certain framerate. This game was released in 1998 with a max framerate support of 30 fps, and still, the same story is being repeated. This was absolutely not accepted by the Metal Gear fans.

Although MGS 2: Sons of Liberty and MGS 3: Snake Eater are going to support a superior framerate of up to 60 fps on all platforms, except Nintendo Switch, On Switch, even these two games are going to support up to 30 frames per second, both in handheld and TV mode.
Fans are disappointed
Getting these old-age resolutions and framerate capping, fans are a bit disappointed:
This fan at least wanted more than 1080p.

Another fan can’t believe how MGS can be capped at 60 fps on PC.
How is MGS not 120

This fan is unable to digest that those 60 fps games will be running at 30 fps on Switch.
Is there a reason the switch is stuck ar 30fps? I mean mgs2&3 we’re 60fps on ps2 😭

Seeing this potential resolution and framerates of the games, this fan has canceled his pre-order.
So pathetic. Cancelled my pre-order awhile ago.

Although there are some loyal MG fans too.

Everyone else: How lazy!
Me: Yay, going to play Metal Gear Solid again despite the specs because I like happiness 😀— Huskie (@huskiesghost) September 22, 2023
All over, fans are hyped up with this collection edition. But now, after the announcements of potential resolutions and frames for this, that hype may have gloomed somehow. MG fans were waiting for an updated experience of these games, which were released years ago on old consoles like the PS3 and Xbox 360. Be it 1998 or 2023, MGS is still locked at 30 fps, which has made fans so frustrated. Let’s see if Konami pays heed to these concerns and makes changes to these cappings.
