PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 beta starts on Wednesday
In the post that went up on February 9, PlayStation informs fans about the significant new features that they are testing to soon be released globally. The first up is Party Chat options for both the PS5 and PS4.
According to a PlayStation.Blog post by Hideaki Nishino, Senior Vice President, players can now create ‘Open’ and ‘Closed’ parties, with Open parties allowing your friends to join instantly without an invite, and Closed parties being invite-only. Additionally, because of the beta, currently, Open parties are only accessible by players that are also running the beta software.
Notably, improved visual markers will now be available to players in order to better identify and report players using voice chat in a party. ‘Share Play’ is also available directly from a voice-chat card, but both features are currently PS5 exclusive.

There are also UI enhancements for the PS5. With quality-of-life improvements like the option to filter your games by genre and improvements regarding the cluttered PS5 home screen. Players can now select up to five games and apps to keep on your home screen with the ‘Keep in Home’ feature.
These would be separate from the 14 games and apps that can now appear on your home screen along with the Trophy UI seeing some improvements overall.
PS5 players can now use voice commands with their console. However, this feature would see a limited release in US and UK pending further notification. Gamers can enable voice command from their settings, and use their voice to control media playback, open and find games.
But not everyone is happy with the list of announced features.
What is going on with VRR???
It's been over a year and you still haven't managed to activate this on PS5. Meanwhile it's been a option on Xbox for ~4 years now…including SeriesX.
