We’re in the Kitchen”- Insomniac Games Admittedly ‘Cooking Up’ Spider-Man 2, Justifies Two-Year Absence on Information

Insomniac Games have seemingly been taking their sweet time in making the sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man. And fans can’t wait any longer. Announced at the PlayStation Showcase event in September 2021, it was scheduled for a late 2023 launch. With the release period creeping closer, the game is yet to show any substantial proof of existence.

When fans recently called out Insomniac Games for the lack of content about the game, the developer hit back with a witty answer. However, now, it seems like witty answers would not satiate many gamers.

Spider-Man going to Hollywood Bowl

In a recent tweet from Insomniac Games, they announced that the music from Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise will feature at The Game Awards 10-Year Concert. The concert is being held at the Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles on June 25, featuring music from games like Elden Ring and The Last of Us.

However, many fans were left underwhelmed. They seemed to have more questions for Insomniac Games rather than the tickets for the concert. User @UnbiaseLuchador asked the studio if Spider-Man 2 is still up for a launch this year. This question got a boilerplate response from the studio. 

User @GodofInk96 called out the studio saying, “I don’t know why it’s taking you two years just to show SOMETHING.” The comeback from the studio was also a witty one.

Insomniac Games asks fans to be patient

The studio stated that ‘they are in the kitchen right now,’ asking fans for more patience. If the studio is still in the ‘kitchen’, this might mean the development of the title is still not complete yet. Even Spider-Man 2 Voice Actor has stated that a tonne of work is left in the game. While earlier rumors stated a September 2023 release for the game, it may take longer than that. 

Some fans have come in defense of the Studio too. Fans would definitely want a sequel that lives up to the standard of the 2018 Spider-Man title. Many fans have shown faith in the studio for delivering another masterpiece in the form of the sequel.
