Nintendo and Illumination Entertainment are all set to launch their Super Mario Bros. movie in April. The movie is looking very good and is faithful to its source material. What fans are loving is the fact that visually this movie is as vibrant as any typical 3d Mario game is.

Now that fans have a good movie based on their favorite mascot, they wonder what’s up at Nintendo. Fans keep on probing Nintendo for any kind of news on any upcoming Mario games.

And it appears, Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto finally has an answer!

Shigeru Miyamoto confirms Nintendo is always working on a Super Mario game

When Nintendo Switch launched, along with it came a game called Super Mario Odyssey. The game was the culmination of everything fans had seen in any Mario game up to that point. It was an open-world adventure that took players on an intergalactic adventure.

The best part was that its gameplay was not limited by its ambitions. To this day, fans count it as one of the best platformer games they have ever played. It is not a stretch, Super Mario Odyssey is a perfect Mario game.

That’s why fans have high expectations for its sequel, or whatever Nintendo has planned next for Mario. And if Mario and The Legend of Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto is to be believed, Nintendo is always working on a Mario game.

They just do not announce games prematurely, so they would wait before making any announcement.

In a recent interview with IGN, he specifically said, “We’re always working on Mario, so when we get to a time where we can share information, we’ll certainly do so.”

Seems like Nintendo is just being careful!

And it is understandable if Nintendo is now staying away from pre-maturely announcing any games. They have made this mistake with a bunch of games in the past. Pikmin 4 was announced years ago and is only getting a launch date now. And another example of this is Metroid Prime 4. This game was announced early in the life of Nintendo Switch and its production has been restarted.

Now there’s a slim chance Prime 4 would make its way to Nintendo Switch at all. At least fans got Metroid prime remastered and 2 and 3 are on their way too.
