In the Twitch scene, one of the most well-known and influential streamers is Zack, aka Asmongold. He sits on the top floors of the Twitch ladder with over three million followers and millions of watch hours. Yet recently, Zack shared that the thing which enabled him and gave him his identity is what he ‘hates’ most.

Zack has been streaming on Twitch since 2014. He is one of the veterans on the platform, alongside xQc and ex-Twitch streamer DrDisrespect. Other than being a full-time streamer and content creator, he also shares the ownership of one of the most popular gaming organizations in the world, OTK.

In the very first episode of OTK’s brand-new Podcast, Steak and Eggs, with fellow OTK owners, Emiru and Tectone, Asmongold shared some controversial thoughts about the platform that gave them the spotlight. In the podcast, Asmongold even said that he would migrate from Twitch to YouTube if given the chance.

“If I had to pick one I had to do for the rest of my life, always, I would do YouTube,” said Zack in the podcast. He very explicitly runs down the things that he hates the most about the Amazon-owned streaming platform. Among them, one thing that bothers him the most is his fan’s voice aka the chat

“To be honest, I hate Twitch culture,” Zack continued. “‘Oh, wow. This is a cool new joke. Let’s type it 400 times.’ And then, ‘Oh man, let’s [play] Marco Polo. You say this word, I say this emote. How clever and funny,’” he further added. The streamer mocked his viewers and the activities they do on the online chat of his streams.

Asmongold continued to share his thoughts on his viewers and the chat culture in general. He even compared the audience to pet cats, which the streamer ‘controls’. He also added that there are a lot of “weird people” who generally are very active on chats of streamers who write weird and problematic things.

“I think a lot more weirdos come from Twitch than YouTube, too,” added Emiru, fueling Zack’s statement. Zack quickly said he agrees with Emiru’s comment and continued to share his thoughts about Twitch. Asmongold is also active on YouTube. He uploads his stream clips on YouTube and sometimes makes content.
