When a developer starts working on a new title, they have mixed feelings—that of enthusiasm and fear. This is especially true when the game they are working on is a sequel to a 13-year-old title. Sam Lake, one of the directors and the writer of Alan Wake 2, has shared his enthusiasm about their latest game. He opens up about how he thinks the Alan Wake series is the most Remedy game they have ever created.

He then went on to talk about how he appreciates the efforts of the team of developers working on Alan Wake 2. Mentioning how his team made every idea even better with their interesting suggestions. He also revealed that the team behind Alan Wake 2 started production amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Then he continued to mention how that problem hindered his and his team’s creative process.

He said, “We started the production of this project in the middle of the COVID lockdown. Reality is never a creator’s paradise. In this case, it’s truer than in many others.”
